I tell ya, if I've seen it once, I've seen it a thousand times. Some hot shot Navy fly boy gets a little bit too bold for his britches and decides he's gonna go ahead and take off without his airplane. Well thank God that in this case his buddy was there to grab him by the belt and keep him from making a fool out of himself. Too often, when this kind of thing happens, nobody's there to stop the would be flyer as he runs down the runway with his arms spread out. The result is always the same. The poor bastard winds up just kinda flopping off the front end of the aircraft carrier, left to be fished unceremoniously from the frigid sea. It's real embarrassing and most guys learn their lesson after trying it once, but you do occasionally get that fella who keeps trying this crap repeatedly, convinced that if he builds up enough speed on the runway, he has a legitimate shot at it.
