Hail To The Chief?
I got a chance to see President Bush in person for the first time this weekend and, obviously, it was a real thrill for me. I was, however, surprised by a couple of things. First of all, I thought it was odd seeing him, clearly without Secret Service protection, participating in an anti-American protest outside the World Bank in Washington DC. I mean he's the President and can do whatever he damn well pleases, but I'm just concerned that him being there and doing that "Hail Hitler" thing, might be sending the wrong kind of message to the American people. Oh, and the other thing that took me off guard was the size of the man's head. Bush has a ridiculously huge head. Somehow, that doesn't come across on TV, but in person, boy, let me tell ya. He reminded me of one of those bobble head dolls, for crying out loud. And not for nothing, but the whole time I was watching him, he had this blank expression on his face and his eyes were kinda bugging out of his head. He never blinked even once. I hate to say it, but to be honest with you, I'm not so sure he was entirely sober at the time. Again, perhaps the wrong message for him to be sending. Anyway, nonetheless, it was really neat to see the President in person.
